Healing Snowfall

The large flakes falling

Remind me of a time when

Snowfall was captured by

The eyes of a child,

So innocent and in awe

Of An Cailleach’s beautiful waltz.

Down they came,

Down and down,

With a relentless silence

That glittered on the ground.

I wish to wrap myself in this blanket,

And feel each flake an

Astounding masterpiece

In the thousands.

I am comforted through the

Cold damp wetness that

Spreads through the fibers

Of my gloves and leaves me

Shivering in captivation.

The wind is a frigid kiss

Upon which I cannot hide.

The cold is a catalyst for my soul,

And I find myself arms thrown

Open as I embrace the winter

Gust and find my feet

Dancing through the snow in

a moment of utter bliss.

I am alive, and I am well.
